RN welcomes Edward Mortimer to International Advisory Board

RN is pleased to announce that Edward Mortimer – veteran journalist and leading human rights advocate, at the UN as Director of Communications to Secretary General Kofi Annan, and now at the Salzburg Global Seminar – has joined its International Advisory Board. Edward Mortimer has been one of the most influential writers on global affairs beginning in the 1970s and 80s with both the London Times and the Financial Times. He was a key figure in the early nonviolent resistance to Saddam Hussein through the International Committee for a Free Iraq, and continues his work for democracy and human rights across the world, notably for Sri Lanka as chair of the Campaign for Peace and Justice, and at the forefront of building democratic networks for the Middle East Revolution. “His expertise and dedication form a unique combination in the world”, RN Chairman Mallat says, “I view in Edward Mortimer an extraordinary global humanist perspective for the 21st Century.” Trudi Hodges, Director at RN, conducted the following interview with Edward Mortimer.
